Gold Bonus Conditions

To be eligible for the APG Gold Bonus Scheme a horse must be fully sustained for the Two Year Old Series - that is full payment of the Salesday, October and January Sustaining Fees. Trotters are not eligible for the Gold Bonus. 

Colts & Geldings will be eligible to receive a $2,000 Gold Bonus for their first 2yo win in any officially sanctioned race offering minimum stakes of over $1,000.

Fillies & Mares will be eligible to receive a $2,000 Gold Bonus for each of their first wins as a 2yo, 3yo and 4yo in any officially sanctioned race offering minimum stakes of over $1,000. This means that Fillies & Mares will be able to win a maximum of $6,000 in Gold Bonuses, consisting of $2,000 for their first 2yo win, an additional $2,000 for their first 3yo win, and an additional $2,000 for their first 4yo win.

The Fillies & Mares Gold Bonuses operate independently of each other. That is, a Filly is entitled to a $2,000 Gold Bonus for its first 3yo win, regardless of whether or not it won a Gold Bonus as a 2yo. Similarly, a 4yo mare is entitled to a $2,000 Gold Bonus for its first win as a 4yo, regardless of whether it had previously won a Gold Bonus as either a 2yo or a 3yo.

The registered owner(s) (or registered lessee(s) in the case of a leased horse) at the time when a horse wins its eligible two year old race will be the recipient of the APG Gold Bonus.

A horse that wins a 2yo race prior to 31 January (i.e. the due date for the final sustaining payment) qualifies for the Gold Bonus, however, the $2,000 cash payment (plus GST if applicable) will not be redeemable until such time as all Two Year Old Sustaining Fees are completed.

Australian Pacing Gold will endeavour to identify and contact the Manager of all Gold Bonus winning horses within 28 days and make payment of the Gold Bonus directly to the horse’s nominated Manager.

In the event that Australian Pacing Gold fails to contact the nominated Manager within 28 days, the Manager should contact APG on (03) 5275 1999 to arrange redemption of the Gold Bonus.
