FAVOURABLE draws have placed Chicago Gangster, Don Hugo and Prince Louie in solid positions to become Australian Pacing Gold’s latest feature winner.

Engaged in Saturday night’s Tatlow Stake at Club Menangle, the trio will begin from barriers one, two and three.

Each of the three have already enjoyed success from less than a handful of starts!

Don Hugo was triumphant upon debut, while Prince Louie scored in Newcastle yesterday.

A Menangle winner two starts ago, Chicago Gangster was runner-up against older rivals in Penrith last week.

Pleased with the two-year-old’s progress, trainer David Thorn is quietly confident Chicago Gangster can capture the time honoured feature.

“I was very happy with his Penrith run,” Thorn said. “He hit the line well and was doing his best work at the finish.

“His work at home has also picked up and he will be better again on Saturday night.

“He’s got a good draw, and with all being equal on the night, I expect him to play a role in the finish.”

To be given a break following his pending appearance, Chicago Gangster will then be readied for the New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge Blue series later in the year.

“He is eligible for the Blue Series, which is the main aim with him,” Thorn said. “It’s gone from $50,000 to $100,000 this season, which hopefully is good timing!”
