IN WHAT is becoming a cliché, Australian Pacing Gold purchases are once again poised to dominate another round of Group Ones.
Just as they have in recent years – including a defending champion – APG stock are aplenty in the top-shelf events at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night.
Three pacing Group Ones are part of the phenomenal program headed by the Victoria Cup.
A trio of APG purchases will take their positions in the Grand Circuit gem, including reigning champion Max Delight.
Mach Dan and Expensive Ego round out the trio, with the latter the $2.60 TAB Fixed Odds favourite from barrier two.
Earlier on the card APG stock will complete half the Victoria Derby field!
The ‘Super Six’ include odds-on favourite, Captain Ravishing, and dual Derby winner, Leap To Fame.
Despite drawing the second row, Captain Ravishing is at $1.85 with TAB Fixed Odds, with Leap To Fame considered the main danger at $3 from barrier five.
Amazingly, five of the other six starters are New Zealand-bred, with the ‘other’ runner – Heza Son Of Agun, raced by his breeders, meaning every Aussie-bred Derby contender sold was purchased via APG!
Petillante is the sole APG representative in the Oaks, however, the filly will prove more than a handful for her rivals.
Boasting six wins and a two seconds – including her Oaks heat – from her last eight starts, Petillante has drawn to make her presence felt from barrier three.
APG wishes the connections of all Group One runners the best of luck.
