Success Stud, Young (NSW), one of Australia’s longest established and most successful standardbred nurseries, achieved rather a notable feat when they reared three runners in a 10-horse field in the $150,000 Australian Pacing Gold Victoria Gold Bullion Final for three-year-old fillies at Melton on Saturday night (May 25).

They were Libby Lou, a grand type of filly who led and finished runner-up, Bolero (fifth) and Eye Can Try (eighth).

Libby Lou (by Sweet Lou) and Bolero (by Vincent) were both bred by Success Stud together with passionate Sydney owners Alex Smith and Russell Woods, while Eye Can Try (by Sweet Lou) was bred and is part-owners by Messrs Smith and Woods.

Success Stud, which is conducted by Jackie Gibson, has an outstanding record in producing top flight juveniles and cup class performers for almost 60 years.
