Queensland businessman and harness breeder Adam Cahill, the man who brought out the Inter Dominion champion and Miracle Mile hero Don Hugo, has a three-strong entry in our Winter Mix Sale, with bidding starting online today.
Cahill, trading as Cahillio Pty Ltd, has nominated a weanling colt and a yearling filly – both out of the superbly bred Mach Three mare Skreemr NZ – and the four-year-old racemare Im Butter Blue.
Listed as Lot 15, the weanling colt is a product of the 2020 USA Horse of the Year and emerging sire Tall Dark Stranger and the seven-win mare Skreemr, a half-sister to four winners including the multiple Group winner Your So Fine ($270,667) and the NZ Young Guns heat winner Im Meticulous ($109,067).
The colt is eligible for the rich QBred Bonus Scheme.
Lot 33, the yearling filly out of Skreemr, and her first foal, is by the siring colossus Bettor’s Delight and is Vicbred eligible.
Interestingly, the siblings belong to the same branch of the noted Black Watch tribe as the NZ Oaks and Jewels winner Laurella, the outstanding WA racemare Penny Black, the NZ Harness Million victor Cover Girl, Express Stride (1:49) and so on.
The Lazarus mare Im Butter Blue, Lot 39, has won three races with three placings from 16 starts to date and holds a mark of 1:54.3.
A particularly well bred mare, she is a half-sister to the Mildura Cup winner Young Bluey ($178,991) and a closely relative of the Miracle Mile placegetter Hexus ($555,199), Stars Align 1:48 ($860,421) and the Tasmanian Raider Stakes winner Magician ($372,253).
Bidding opens on today, Sunday August 16 at 12 noon and closing begins at 5pm Monday, August 17. For more information on these and other Lots, check the catalogue and register as a bidder today!
