In the dynamic world of harness racing, emerging stars often shine bright, and Bettagetonpip is no exception. Knocked down for $39,000 at the Australian Pacing Gold sale at Perth in 2023, she led in an APG quinella in the $30,000 Western Crown at Gloucester Park on Friday (June 14).

Jaxs Ideal, another APG graduate purchase at the same sale for $55,000, filled the quinella spot.

Bettagetonpip, a grand looking Betting Line filly, rated a career-best 1:56.3 for the 1730 metres from behind the mobile highlighted by a flying 57.3 seconds last 800.

With earnings now at $56,107 from three wins and two seconds in just five starts, including a close second in the $125,000 APG Sales Classic Final in March, Bettagetonpip is emerging as a top talent to keep an eye out for.

Bettagetonpip was bred by Boyanup horseman Dennis Roche, a long-time supporter of the APG sales-race concept.

She is the first foal of the Sportswriter mare Pippa Royale, a winner of three races and a placegetter in the 2019 APG Sales Classic. Pippa Royale is a half-sister to seven sub 2:00 winners, four Group 1 winners and three $100,000 earners including Trucker’s Ruffnut, Tuxedo Tour and Give Us A Wave.
