After the success of the first 2 years, Darling Downs Harness Racing Club and APG are partnering up once again to bring you their annual Stallion Service Auction! This fundraiser has become a staple of the DDHRC calendar and represents not only a chance for breeders to pick up a service at a great price, but also an opportunity to further support the sport we all love.

Services to eight highly credentialled pacing and trotting stallions from many of the leading stud farms in the country will go up for auction. All studs have generously fully donated these services to help grassroots racing in the industry.

The services will be up for auction from August 19 to 26 with every cent going to the running of the Club.

Heading the list is Alabar Farms’ flagship Art Major, the eight-time leading juvenile sire in Australia and last season’s premier three-year-old sire. He is the sire of almost 1500 Australian bred winners and they have amassed over $113 million in stakes including top pacers the calibre of Don Hugo, Vincent, For A Reason, Restrepo, Major Crocker and Sushi Sushi.

The Meadowlands Pace winner Best In Show, who is standing his first season at Cobbitty Equine Farm in NSW, is also part of the stallion auction. The winner of $670,000 and with a record of 1:48, he is by the world champion Bettor’s Delight out of the Hall of Fame mare Put On A Show.

The Woodlands Stud stallion Lather Up, a former world champion, North America Cup winner and now highly promising sire, joins the roster. He has sired 42 winners from 60 starters in Australia including the NSW Breeders Challenge winner Sparkling Sea and the Redcliffe Sales Classic winner Basilisk Bob.

The three-time Queensland Horse of the Year Colt Thirty One (Egmont Park Stud) and the dual NZ Cup her Copy That (Murray Veterinary Services WA) complete the pacing stallion lineup.

Colt Thirty One, a millionaire son of Mach Three, is the sire of the multiple Group placegetter Bettor One from only a handful of starters, while Copy That, the richest ever son of American Ideal and a 15-time Group winner, is standing his second season at stud.

Two sons of the great Muscle Hill in Aldebaran Zeus (Aldebaran Park) and Muscle M Up (Medowie Lodge) are part of the stallion roster.

A former 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year, Aldebaran Zeus, who is standing his second season, won nine races at Group level including five Group 1’s. Muscle M Up has left five winners from 11 foals to date including the multiple Albion Park three-year-old winner Fredidrivsamercury.

Completing the lineup is the Angus Hall horse Imperial Count, who is standing at Bellmoure Park Stud in SA. An Ontario Gold winner, the stallion has run up a solid siring score on both sides of the Tasman headed up by the Breeders Crown and Vicbred champion Keayang Livana, the Group winner Monaro Mia, Imperial Whiz and Imperial Monarch.
