Lot 69 - Adele Said

Consigned By: Galthorn Farm

A significant chapter in Victorian breeding will close this month when Galthorn Farm disperses part of its breeding stock portfolio through our Online Winter Mix Sale.

Established by Garry Hawthorn and Jenny Gallagher in 2005, Galthorn was originally based at Mundoona before transferring to Helen Head’s property at Congupna nine years ago.

Over the years the couple has sent many top yearlings to the Victorian and NSW sales, including Malcom’s Rhythm, who won a heat of the Inter Dominion and finished second in the NSW Derby.

The Caduceus Club Classic winner Watchmefella, the top Tasmanian pacer Be Major Threat, the Group 2 WA winner Mohegan Sun, the SA Oaks winner Wellsaidlucy and others in Captain Oh Captain, Otis Rising, Rubeelee, Lethal Louie, Lost Four Words, Wyatt Flynn and Hesty, all came out of Galthorn Farm.

The draft for the upcoming sale comprises three winner-producing broodmares – all empty – by champion sires from Australasia’s leading maternal families.

“Our Sunset Delight (1:51.8) is the fastest horse we’ve ever bred and his mother Im Twice The Delight is in the sale,” Jenny said.

“We are also offering Adele Said, a very fast mare who is the dam of the recent Gloucester Park winner Captain Said So, as well as the superbly bred Bettor’s Delight mare Our Options.

“Everything out of Our Options bar one has won going inside 1:58.”

Bidding opens on Sunday, August 16 at 12 noon and closes on Monday, August 17 at 5pm. For more information on these and other Lots, check the catalogue and register as a bidder today!
