Her father is a multiple feature winner, a multi millionaire and a world champion to boot!
Among the best of his generation, Always B Miki won 30 of his 53 starts, with 23 placings and a bankroll of $2,826,176 also to his credit.
Always B Miki’s victories include the Tattersalls Pace, Breeders’ Crown Final, Ben Franklin Pace, William R. Haughton Memorial, Hoosier Park Pacing Derby, Dan Patch Invitational and Dayton Pacing Derby.
Until now, Always B Miki’s greatest claim to fame has been his status the fastest pacer of all time thanks to his breathtaking 1:46 triumph.
At Gloucester Park tomorrow night Always B Miki’s latest pinnacle moment shapes as being the sire of exciting filly Taking The Miki.
Already a winner of the Group Two Australian Pacing Gold Bullion Final, Taking The Miki is an odds-on favourite to join her father as multiple feature winner by adding the Diamond Classic to her impressive tally.
Prepared by astute trainer Ross Olivieri, Taking The Miki’s record sits on four wins and two placings from seven starts.
“I couldn’t be happier with everything she has done,” Olivieri said. “She has met every challenge that’s been set for her and is getting better all the time.
“Her potential is huge and I’m already looking at her as an Oaks filly next season.
“She’s got plenty of her sire’s speed, but a fair bit of grunt about her too…she’s pretty much the complete package.”
Fresh from heat win a fortnight ago, Taking The Miki has drawn to lead throughout from barrier two.
One of seven APG graduates in the Group One, Taking The Miki is a $1.60 favourite.
“She’s still got to get out there and do the job, but I can’t see her being beaten,” Olivieri said. “She is in top form, working terrifically and has the right draw.
“It’s going to take a big run to beat her.”
