A TRIAL at Club Menangle earlier this week could have a large impact on tomorrow’s results.

Although none of the youngsters in the trial are racing this weekend, the winner’s performance during an educational run has the potential to kick-start a bidding war during Australian Pacing Gold’s Sale on the Gold Coast.

Purchased for $50,000 from last year’s corresponding sale, the newly-turned two-year-old is now known as Chicago Bart.

Driven by Luke McCarthy, the son of Sweet Lou gave every indication owner Gary Barton has invested wisely when he strolled to a 70-metre win.

As for the pending sale, Chicago Bart’s ‘niece’ will enter the ring as Lot Four.

By Somebeachsomewhere, the filly is from unraced matron, Major Fashion, which is a half-sister to Chicago Bart.

The pair are from New York Fashion, which boasts a perfect record from three starters.

Lot Four’s family is littered winners, including Maajida, which became the first filly to complete a clean sweep of the Vicbred Finals as a two, three and four-year-old in 2021.
