Following the successful launch of our new online sales platform, we are excited to announce our upcoming sale dates for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
“After getting some feedback from the industry, we are looking at having one more in sale to close out 2026 before going forward with a new sale schedule that will have an online sale every two months,” APG Operations Manager James Rogers said.
“With this calendar, we are hope to strike a good balance of constant sales to provide the industry with multiple opportunities through out the year to keep stock moving.”
The first of the sale announced will be a Ready To Run Sale, being held from December 1 to 3. This sale will be only open to pacing and trotting two-years-old and older that are currently racing or ready to race.
All entries must be accompanied by a video of a horse’s recent racetrack or trackwork performance to provide prospective buyers with an opportunity to view the horse in full racing regime.
This sale will not be open to breeding stock or young stock.
Entries for the Ready To Run Sale will open on the 4th of September and close on Sunday, October 25.
The second announced sale and the first sale of 2027 will be a National Yearling Sale. This sale will be conducted from February 1 to 5 for Australian bred yearlings only. The sale is open to yearlings across the country and will be the first yearling sale in Australia for 2027.
Entries for the National Yearling Sale will open on the 4th of September and close on Sunday, December 20.
These sales will provide both vendors and buyers with unique opportunities in the selling arena by opening up the market with cheaper entry fee, lower sales commission and lower upfront costs than those associated with in person sales.
Not stopping there, APG will also conduct 2 more sales in the first half of 2027, with one sale in April (April 6 to 8) and another in June (June 1 to 3) in a format to be devised.
“Rather than jumping straight to the mix sale format, we will be seeking feedback from breeders, vendors and buyers on what kind of online sales they would like to see going forward and to help shape the future of online sales,” Rogers said.
“The point of these sales are to provide the industry with a platform to grow into new markets or areas that may have been underserved in the past. That is why we are asking the industry, what is the sale formats you would like to see going forward?”
“Whether that is the tried and true mix sale format, a more specifically targeted type sale or a something that is completely new, we want to try and provide that service for the industry.”
