The complete dispersal of the breeding stock of well known Wimmera horse breeder and grazier Barry Robinson will be a standout feature of our Winter Mix Sale being held on August 16 and 17.
Robinson, who has been involved in the breeding side for almost 40 years, is offering 10 broodmares, all empty, several of whom are descendants of his champion broodmare Janoela Star.
A daughter of Classic Garry, Janoela Star left six individual winners – all inside 2:00 – including the top flight performers Cosmic Legacy and Cosmic Flight, who both won in Free-for-all company at Moonee Valley and Gloucester Park.
The Moonee Valley winners Quick Armbro and Fay’s Pride, the Melton trotting winner Lifeinthebalance, Earl’s Court, Magical Bazz and the smart Tasmanian mare Nine Diamonds are among the swag of winners brought out by Robinson over the years.
Among the offering are Lot 72, Janoela Star’s daughter Charming Ruler (by Rocknroll Hanover) and granddaughters Cosmic Icon (Lot 49 by Sportswriter) and Always A Delight (Lot 50 by Always B Miki).
Also catalogued is Lot 76, Magical Macey NZ, a sister to the WA Pacing Cup winner and million dollar earner Mysta Magical Mach. As well as Lot 79, Major Love, an Art Major mare closely related to the Group winners Sports Dancer and Hexham Heartbeart, and her daughter Miss Moriane, Lot 61, by Pet Rock.
Street Art (Lot 77), a half-sister to five winners including Sultan Fella and Whodeani, Ocean Jasper (Lot 63), an Major In Art mare from a top Group 1 family, the Bettor’s Delight mare Wings Of Delight (Lot 80) and the Grinfromeartoear mare Smiling Debutante (Lot 54) complete the Robinson draft.
It is not often you see a host of breeding stock of this caliber come on the market like this, especially from such a well known breeder. But as Barry takes a step back from the industry it provides a new generation of breeders the opportunity to build their mare stock with top quality at a great price.
