The Annual APG Victorian Yearling Sale returns this weekend to the picturesque Inglis Complex at Oaklands Junction.

The Sale is on Sunday 4th February commencing at 12 noon.

On the day prior, Saturday 3rd February, a Parade of Yearlings, sponsored by Harness Breeders Victoria and BetaVet, will be conducted at the Sales complex also commencing at 12 Noon.

Harness Breeders Victoria throw a lot of effort into promoting any Yearling sale in Victoria and this year they will be represented on the day by their Committee Member and Secretary Brett Coffey.

BetaVet is a Company that is developing or has developed numerous feed additives and supplements for the Equine Performance Industry.  Greg Sugars and Jess Tubbs are examples of Harness Racing participants who love their products.

The Marketing manager for BetaVet, Natalie Waters, will be in attendance on Saturday with a display of the BetaVet products.

There will be four categories for Judging the Parade.

  • Trotters – Best Presented Colt and Filly.
  • Pacers – Best Presented Colt and Filly.

Harness Breeders Victoria will provide Trophies to the Preparers of the four winning Yearlings. Then BetaVet will provide Gift Packs as Trophies to not only the Preparers of the winners but also the Vendors of the four yearlings judged as best presented in their various classes.

The judging will be done by the highly respected Standardbred Show judge Rebecca Lund.  Rebecca was the Founder of the Standardbred Pleasure and Performance Horse Association of Victoria some 30 years ago.

Rebecca has owned horses for the past 36 years competing in both Dressage and in Showing, winning too many Titles to list here.

Stints working for David Aiken, some Thoroughbred trainers and the Carlton United Clydesdales all added to making Rebecca into a well-rounded horsewoman.

Rebecca also has a share in the Trotting mare Aussie Beach Blond, a winner of 6 races on Victorian tracks and now engaging in a breeding career.

The Parade will commence at 12 Noon and will also be streamed through the APG Facebook Page.
